Wait List Fee Policy
Thank you so much for your interest in one of our babies! If you have made it this far, you're pretty serious about adding a new family member. We want you to know that we're just as serious about placing our pups in the very best homes. If you have just begun your search or have been dreaming of a Dachshund/Mauxie for years the current puppy market can feel overwhelming. For one thing, supply is low and demand is very high. Unfortunately when that happens in a market, it leaves lots of room for potential scammers, puppy mills or unethical breeders to take advantage of you.
At Mainely Mauxies and Doxies we almost never have pups that aren't spoken for well in advance. In fact, our planned litters only move forward if the wait list is full. Since Covid and the unprecedented amount of "Pandemic Puppies" purchased and back yard breeders/puppy mills popping up everywhere, the puppy market is a scary place. When you choose Mainely Mauxies and Doxies as your breeder you can feel confident knowing I am available basically all day every day for you and our puppies.
Typically we try to keep the wait for a puppy between 6 and 12 months, but that can change for multiple reasons. Our puppy picks always go in order of when we received your completed application and Wait List Fee. We will give you our best estimated wait time when you complete your application. There are so many factors out of our control that can make your wait time shorter or longer. Maybe the timing isn't right for the buyer in front of you or maybe someone wants a specific sex, color, or pattern. When that happens we move right down the list to whomever is next in line.

Wait List Fee Policy
Mainely Mauxies & Doxies requires a $500.00 non refundable Wait List Fee due at the time of application to be on our waitlist. This fee will secure your puppy from the next litter based on availability and be deducted from your final balance. If you have sex or color preferences that are not aligned with said litter, your Wait List Fee will be held until the next available litter is due. Again, Wait List Fees are NON REFUNDABLE unless your application is denied by Mainely Mauxies and Doxies. When applying for a puppy with Mainely Mauxies and Doxies you are asking for a piece of our legacy. We will not breed a pair unless we have homes lined up well beforehand. I understand waiting can be so hard, I've been there, but the reason our Miniature Dachshunds are the best is because of the time, effort, blood, sweat and tears we put into each litter. That takes thought, planning, attention and of course, a LOT of money. Veterinarian bills are at an all time high and since Covid, scammers are everywhere making an already big decision all the more stressful on our clients. We want our future parents to feel secure and know that we'll do everything in our power to fulfill their wants and needs, but we also expect you to follow through as well.
Breeding costs never end. We have kennel inspections, purchasing pups for our program, supplies, food, preventative medicines and vaccines, health testing, vet visits, DNA tests, AKC Fees, X-rays, Ultrasounds, prenatal care, being prepared for an emergency for example a c section, postnatal care, puppy supplies for birth and early life, behavioral testing, litter vet visits for the puppies for their microchips, vaccinations, health certificates and AKC Registration. This list is overwhelming to say the least and that's when everything goes right! Mother Nature is the one in control here. We are a small breeder for a reason. I will never sacrifice the care of our Dachshunds to make more puppies available or have a shorter waiting time. If you are unsure at all about your commitment to this new life or your ability to wait patiently for said pup, please please please DO NOT apply.
Your complete approved application means you are committing to the purchase of a puppy. That being said, once you're added to our waiting list, we're trusting that you intend on a forever with our babe and we plan future litters based on said commitment. Dachshunds are a small breed which means they don't have eight nine ten pups in a litter like large breeds. Four seems to be the average for our Mamas. We only hold those four spots and have to turn others away or extend our wait time when the list is full. It is extremely important to us that you are just as invested in your puppy as we are.
Puppy Picks will go in order of the date we receive your completed application and Wait List Fee. Your spot can change if someone ahead of you passes on a pup either up or down. Breeder ways gets first pick of the litter to evaluate for our program.

****As much as we wish we could see the future, the reality is, there is no possible way to guarantee you will have a puppy from any litter. Your application and Wait List ot guarantee you a puppy. Litter planning is tough but we have been fairly accurate with our time frames. We will not breed our girls unless we have homes already lined up before they even go into heat. I try to push the dates out a little further than anticipated matings so guesstimates of litter arrivals are usually shorter than quoted. We are at Mother Nature’s mercy and all kinds of things can happen. Pregnancies don’t take, litter sizes can vary from one pup to eight or more, and sometimes we lose pups after birth. These issues could cause your wait to be longer or shorter. Some people are looking for certain colors, pattern or sex and will pass on their spot to the next litter.
