Wait List Policy
Thank you so much for your interest in one of our babies! If you have made it this far, you're pretty serious about adding a new family member. We want you to know that we're just as serious about placing our pups in the very best homes. If you have just begun your search or have been dreaming of a Dachshund/Mauxie for years the current puppy market can feel overwhelming. For one thing, supply is low and demand is very high. Unfortunately when that happens in a market, it leaves lots of room for potential scammers, puppy mills or unethical breeders to take advantage of you.
At Mainely Mauxies and Doxies we almost never have pups that aren't spoken for well in advance. In fact our planned litters only move forward if the wait list is full. Since Covid and the unprecedented amount of "Pandemic Puppies" purchased and back yard breeders/puppy mills popping up everywhere, the puppy market can be a scary place. For some breeders, it has affected their ability to place all of their pups. Luckily for us, that hasn't been the case. We get multiple inquiries a day from prospective clients from all over the US. So many of you want a pup RIGHT NOW! While impulse buyers can be a red flag, we can appreciate wanting a pup sooner. If you are looking to find a puppy right this instant, we are not the breeder for you. We absolutely will not produce a litter if we don't have homes already lined up.
Typically we try to keep the wait list at under 12 months but that can change for multiple reasons. Our puppy picks always go in order of deposit received. We will give you our best estimated wait time when you complete your application. There are so many factors out of our control that can make your wait time shorter or longer. Maybe the timing isn't right for the buyer in front of you or maybe someone wants a specific sex/color. When that happens we move right down the list to whomever is next in line.

Mainely Mauxies & Doxies requires a $300.00 non refundable Wait List Fee due at the time of application to be on our waitlist. This fee will secure your puppy from the next litter based on availability and be deducted from final balance. If you have sex or color preferences that are not aligned with said litter, your deposit will be held until the next available litter is due. Wait List Fees are NON REFUNDABLE, unless your application is denied by Mainely Mauxies and Doxies or other extreme unforeseen events approved by Cassandra Wright. When applying for a puppy with Mainely Mauxies and Doxies you are committing to the purchase of a puppy which means we have to turn others away. It is extremely important to us that you are just as serious about your puppy as we are. YOU ARE NOT ON THE WAITLIST UNTIL WAIT LIST FEE IS RECEIVED. Puppy Picks will go in order of the deposits received and your spot on the waitlist.
*****As much as we wish we could see the future, the reality is, there is no possible way to guarantee you will have a puppy from any litter. Your application and Wait List Fee hold your place in line but does not guarantee you a puppy. Litter planning is tough but we have been fairly accurate with our time frames. We will not breed our girls unless we have homes already lined up before they even go into heat. I try to push the dates out a little further than anticipated matings so guesstimates of litter arrivals are usually shorter than quoted. We are at Mother Nature’s mercy and all kinds of things can happen. Pregnancies don’t take, litter sizes can vary from one pup to eight or more, and sometimes we lose pups after birth. These issues could cause your wait to be longer or shorter. Some people are looking for certain colors or sex and will pass on their spot to the next litter. We promise to do our best to keep you updated throughout the process.*****

It is a Google Document so just edit your answers right onto it and it will update on my end. Once application is reviewed and approved you will need to send the wait list fee to complete the application process and be added to "The List".
