Our waiting lists change often for many reasons so it's best to send a message or call to check if we have available pups and approximate wait times. There's always a possibility of an available pup or available even retirees. Our litters are planned carefully and do not move forward if our waiting list isn't full. It is so important to us that we know these babies are wanted and are not contributing to our already overwhelmed shelter system.
We live in a little town called Brownfield, Maine, just over the border from North Conway, New Hampshire. Portland, Maine is about an hour away and Boston, Massachusetts is just over two hours.
Your pup will be fully dewormed, microchipped, vet checked with health certificate and negative fecal result, and have their first age appropriate vaccinations. If your new addition is AKC registered you will receive directions on how to register as well as 30 days of AKC pet insurance. We send every pup home with AKC paperwork, health certificate, microchip instructions, a few days of food (Hills Science Diet Small Bites Puppy Formula), treats (they go crazy for Puperoni Training Treats), a Bully Stick, Puppy Pee Pads, their favorite toys, and blanket that has their litters and Mamas scent.
Our puppies NEVER leave their Mama before the age of eight weeks. Depending on where each puppy is developmentally they will be ready for their new homes between ten to twelve weeks of age.
Yes! We follow The Dachshund Club of America recommended health testing which includes Cardiac examination, Eye examination and Patella Luxation. In an attempt to reduce or eliminate diseases which may be inherited, we also do genetic test through Embark, Wisdom Panel and GenSol.
This is a tough one for us. While we would love to allow people to visit with the puppies, things have changed significantly in the breeding world. Our number one concern is keeping our home and pack safe from parasites and diseases. Parvo rates are going up and it is becoming very resistant to treatments. You can pick up Parvo anywhere there has been a sick unvaccinated dog and unknowingly bring it into our breeding area. It just isn't worth the risk to our babies. Having strangers around the whelping area can also stress out our Mamas and babes. We will consider visits on a case by case basis when the pups are at least 6 weeks old. We promise you'll have puppy pics, videos, and updates once a week so you can swoon... Once puppy is ready to go we arrange most pickups out of our home away from our youngest most vulnerable puppies and nursery area.
Yes! All of our breeding prospects are registered with the American Kennel Club.
Yes! Our puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. They receive NeoPar at 5 weeks. Fecal sample at 7 weeks. At 8 weeks they are examined by the vet and given their first 5 way vaccine and microchipped.
